Arthur Franklin Perkins

1887-1936

Arthur Perkins was a Presbyterian Pastor in Central Wisconsin during the 1920’s and 1930’s. His heroic fight against theological modernism and unbelief in the Presbyterian Church USA cost him everything.

After enduring an ecclesiastical trial and suspension from the ministry, Perkins renounced the jurisdiction of the PCUSA and became a constituting member of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. He was the convener and first moderator of the Presbytery of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan of the OPC, as well as serving briefly as the chairman of the Home Missions and Church Extension Committee of the Presbytery.

Rev. Perkins’ courageous story is recounted in the new biography, Standing Against Tyranny: The Life & Legacy of Arthur Perkins, by the Rev. Brian De Jong.

In August 2021, a conference was held at the Crescent Lake Bible Camp near Rhinelander, Wisconsin. The videos of that conference included seven lectures and four sermons.
