Leadership
Pastor De Jong was born in Bozeman, Montana in 1963. He grew up in Michigan, Iowa, California, New Jersey and Illinois. Graduating from Chicago Christian High School, he attended Calvin College, Trinity Christian College and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. After earning his BA in Cinema and Photography from SIU-C, he married his college sweetheart, DeLou. After graduating, Brian felt called to the Christian ministry. He served at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Carbondale, Illinois, where he developed a ministry to international students through the PCA's campus work, Reformed University Ministries. He attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, where he earned his M-Div. In 1993 he was ordained in the Central Florida Presbytery of the PCA in order to do ministry among international students at the University of Florida. The De Jong family moved back to Illinois in 1995 to plant a PCA church in Marion, Illinois. In 2000, Pastor De Jong was called to Covenant OPC in Brighton, Michigan. After five years in Brighton, the De Jong family relocated to Sheboygan, Wisconsin. In 2005, Pastor De Jong began serving as Pastor at Grace OPC in Sheboygan. He is the chairman of the Candidates and Credentials Committee of the Presbytery of Wisconsin and Minnesota, as well as being the Archivist and Historian of the Presbytery. The DeJongs have six children and 8 grandchildren.
